Dashboard Simulations

About us

Business Games for Organizational Learning

What do we do?

We provide business simulations which are used by teams to learn about key management and leadership topics.

The business simulations are used with a proven structured learning process which is based on best practices in experiential learning, social learning and game based learning – this ensures participants learn what they need to learn as well as having fun!

Because the business simulations are played in teams, participants do not only learn about the simulation topic but also about what it means to create and be part of an effective team and also insight into having effective interpersonal styles.

Each business simulation is based on rules and scenarios which were developed with, and tested by, Subject Matter Experts in the relevant area and is also supported by a comprehensive theory book which also serves as the delegate handout and can be purchased on Amazon.

We also design and build custom business simulations for specific company needs and can provide numerous examples and case studies. Please contact us to discuss your custom business simulation idea or for more information on any business simulation, tool or blueprint.

We will send you a free executive summary of Ken’s book 'A Systematic Guide to Game Based Learning in Organizational Teams' which summarizes our unique approach to experiential learning through business simulation.

What do our clients say?

Associated British Foods (Multinational Food Company)

The biggest compliment I can pay these simulations is that after half an hour the participants are no longer playing a game they are running a business! When we follow-up with participants 3 months after one of these simulation events we are always amazed to see how much their confidence has grown and the bigger impact they are having in their businesses.

Des Pullen, Group HR Director, Associated British Foods

Henderson Group (Operator of SPAR & EUROSPAR stores in NI)

Working closely with Dashboard Simulations we have developed a powerful business simulation that allows our managers to run one of our convenience stores for 4 months in a single day. The pressurised, realistic and highly competitive nature of the game brings a unique dimension to the learning. We are expecting to gain significantly higher benefits and engagement from this game than other forms of training.

Sam Davidson, Group Human Resources Director, Henderson Group

Lane4 (Leading Performance Management Consultancy)

Using these unique business simulations we have been able to develop a whole range of new services for our clients in key areas such as business acumen, strategic thinking, team and leadership development. After every simulation session the participants are always delighted with their new insights and the manner in which they have gained them – fun, fast, social, compelling, collaborative and highly competitive!

Dr. Austin Swain, Client Services Director, Lane4 Management Group

Twinings (Global Food Brand)

Realistic simulation is a powerful though often overlooked and underutilised approach to building capability. The business simulation we developed give people an experience that calls for them to develop and deploy competitive strategy. The learning people derive from the experience is very powerful and because it is theirs the transfer to the workplace is so much easier. We have been able to use the same business simulation over and over again with different groups within the company so the Return on Investment has been exceptionally good for us.

Simon Brocket, International HR Director – R Twining & Company Limited

Allied Mills (Major Flour Manufacturer)

Using this Simulation technology we were able to design a custom simulation game underpinned with a comprehensive model of the milling business which covered key functions including bidding for customer contracts, raw materials procurement and order fulfilment. This enabled us to run highly effective intensive sessions with all the managers in the business to disseminate the key strategies and plans for the coming year whilst developing their leadership and team working skills in a way which was fun and great for team-building. The level of engagement we got from our managers using this approach was really quite amazing!

Robin Lee, Managing Director Allied Mills

International Leadership Institute

The Change Management (Cohort) simulation game is now a centrepiece of our Innovation Academy because it provides our delegates with all the “ups and downs” of trying to win executive support for an important change management programme over 9 months all compressed into an intensive half-day! Participants find this very valuable and often comment that it has given them the confidence to deal with these issues more effectively when they arise in real life

Anne Clydesdale, Director of the William J Clinton Leadership Institute
