A Systematic Guide to Game-Based Learning (GBL) In Organizational Teams

I am very pleased to announce my new guide book with an introduction by my friend Charles Jennings, a leading thinker and practitioner in learning, development and performance. Charles kindly suggests in his foreword that the book ‘provides a deep analysis and clear guidance to help practitioners develop effective social game-based learning solutions’.

The guide starts by explaining exactly what GBL is and why there is so much interest in it. It goes on to review the quantitative and qualitative evidence for the effectiveness of GBL which includes 3 recent case studies in which the author was directly involved. The guide then proposes a systematic approach to planning and designing effective GBL projects covering 4 key stages:

  1. GBL Planning
  2. GBL Design
  3. GBL Testing
  4. GBL Execution.
