Executed well, Game-Based Learning played in teams (TGBL) can enhance the engagement levels, experiential learning and competitiveness of individual games with the power of social learning, team dynamics and collaboration making for a truly memorable learning experience. However, executed naively, TGBL will just entertain or worse still cause confusion and even strife among the participants!
In the 1-page TGBL Infographic, from my new book, I summarise my process for doing this which has been fine-tuned over the last 5 years. The infographic highlights the 7 foundations of effective TGBL and the 10 key steps in the team/individual learning process. The infographic also cross references each foundation to the appropriate step or steps in the process. It also distinguishes between as a ‘WE-learn’ steps (Team) and ‘I-Learn’ steps (Individual).
